The importance of academic partnerships in high education development

Abstract: Bringing the educational process up to date and adjusting it to the work marke requirements are the most important issues involved by European integration of Romanian high-education. This paper proposes a possible solution for reaching those purposes: academic partnerships. Those partnerships open important research and industry collaboration perspectives, bringing many numerous advantages: involment of industry specialists in university curricula development and integration of some scientific, economic and managerial progress elements needed by graduating students, involment of students in accomplishing real industry activities for some companies, acquiring software licences and compuers to enhance the qualitative development of education, feedback from students and those who employ the specialists trained in universities. For a better understanding of the consequences of academic alliences, we briefly presented several partnerships signed during the last 2-3 years by the Computer Science Department of the Academy of Academic Studies, to wich belong this article autors: the collaboration agreement with Crystal System company, the recruitment initiative organized in collaboration with CG&GC company, SAP University Allience and the academic partnership with Microsoft Business Solutions.
