Developing and strengthening model of entrepreneurial university in Romania

Carmen Paunescu ()

The AMFITEATRU ECONOMIC journal, 2007, vol. 9, issue 22, 54-62

Abstract: The article addresses the possibility of developing and extending the entrepreneurial university model into the Romanian higher education institutions, independent of their profile. The entrepreneurial university model distinguishes itself through a clear customer orientation, including its economic partners', that emphasizes the extension and reinforcement of partnerships with all university's stakeholders, interested in the quality of education and research provided by university. This type of university is, above all, concerned with the quality of its „products“, but also with the results and accomplishments obtained both scientifically or technologically, and on the labor market. The research results show that the entrepreneurial university model can be developed and reinforced successfully in Romanian universities, taking into consideration the involvement and commitment of the entire academic community in partnership with the business environment and society as a whole.
