Abstract: Ecological products may represent a valid alternative for Romanian agriculture. The national agricultural potential, significant for the organic production, is represented by large farming areas, which are fallowed for a large period of time, a small number of industrial polluters in Romania and Romania’s tradition in agriculture. The increasing demand in organic farming products, which became manifest at a community and international level, may represent an opportunity for local farmers. The poor development of intensive farming production in Romania may represent a strategic advantage in developing the ecological agricultural sector. The present paper proposes an organic product concept assessment, an identification of Romanian agriculture’s opportunities to obtain organic raw materials, an ecological product domestic and international market description.
