LINKING GLOBALISATION, SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT AND KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER – A NETWORK BASED APPROACH

Abstract: Globalisation is a complex process which has implications at multiple levels and around the world. The future world, regarded as a social network, has the potential to create added value for people, while the interconnections between businesses, strategies, countries and sustainability can be ensured through effective communication, collaboration and intercultural dialogue and partnerships. Within the global economy and culture, knowledge transfer is a key point for success and the creation of win-win partnerships, based mainly on g-localisation and a rational, but dynamic perspective upon the environment and the global market. The paper aims to present various theoretical concepts, analyses and matrixes that are able to serve as a research background for future actions. Several short study cases and best practices from businesses around the world will be used to demonstrate the applicability of these methodologies and tools for a future prosperous economy development. The mini case-studies and examples will be chosen from different levels, including macroeconomic, microeconomic, national, international, private or public bodies. The research will try to examine the opportunities offered by knowledge transfer for analysing processes, quality, human resources, customer relationships and partnership creation. Cross-references to other management tools and techniques will also be made in order to create the link with a future research in the area, based on the interdependencies between relational intellectual capital and the multidimensional globalisation phenomenon.
