Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) holds immense potential to revolutionize education and accelerate progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality Education for All. This technology can bridge geographical and socio-economic barriers, personalize learning experiences, and empower teachers, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and equitable education system. This review explores the fascinating world of generative AI and its potential impact on educational transformation. The emergence of generative AI models, such as ChatGPT, You. com, and Google Bard, has already taken the world by storm, however the impact of these technologies on the educational landscape remains elusive. Through an analysis of existing research, case studies, and realworld applications, this article aims to shed light on the many ways this innovative technology can be leveraged to benefit learners, educators, and educational institutions. By examining the advantages, challenges, and ethical considerations, we aim to offer a well-rounded perspective on the future of education in the age of generative AI for use by educators, policymakers and other stakeholders in education
