Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is often described as the defining technology of the 21st century — a force reshaping everything from medicine to manufacturing. Yet, while much of the conversation revolves around Silicon Valley, Shenzhen, or Berlin, another story is unfolding in Nairobi, Dhaka, Lagos, and São Paulo. For developing countries, AI represents both a once-in-a-generation opportunity and a profound challenge- a chance to leapfrog decades of development, but also a risk of deepening existing inequalities.
