Abstract: In many developing countries, migration is often framed as loss of talent, of labour, of "human cap- ital" heading outward. Yet this narrative misses a quieter but powerful truth that immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, are often essential engines of economic development both at home and in the places, they move to.
