Abstract:
That a country such as Zambia is endowed with an abundance of natural resources is a truism that requires no contest. Apart from Zambia’s agricultural sector and other segments of the national economy that contribute to Zambia’s gross domestic product (GDP), the country has a wide range of natural resources, including copper, cobalt, silver, uranium, lead, coal, zinc, gold, and emerald. Additionally, Zambia is said to be one of the main producers of semi-precious gemstones, and is recognized internationally as a major producer of tourmaline, amethyst, and aquamarine.
