Development Finance Agenda, 2022, vol. 7, issue 3, 3

Abstract: The global rating agencies are dominated by only three names- namely Moody, Standard & Poor and Fitch. All three have their origins in Europe and the US. Between them they control almost the entire global rating market. Their main role is to provide markets information, about risks associated with different types of debts, to both lenders and borrowers. The rating reports they provide can make or break a country or an organisation.
