Abstract: The main objective of this article is to analyze the evolution of the ideas and theoretical propositions of John Maynard Keynes on the Indian monetary system of 1909 to 1913. Argues that Keynes’s proposals, a central bank for India and one coin given to the international monetary system, make the Indian currency and finance, a precursor of Keynes Plan, the years 1940, and the Bretton Woods monetary system.
