POVERTY, INEQUALITY OF DISTRIBUTION AND EXPLANATORY CAUSES OF INDIVIDUAL INCOME IN MATO GROSSO: 2001, 2006 AND 2011

Abstract: With data of 2001, 2006 and 2011, are estimated poverty indicators and the inequality of income distribution, based on the individual family income, to the urban and rural environment, as well as of the economy of Mato Grosso. Despite exhibiting a downward trend, indicators of poverty and inequality can be considered high. In addition, draws up distribution of per capita income by deciles ordered groups. After these steps, using multiple regression, for each of the three years, whose independent variables are: skin color, age, sex and years of study, identify explanatory causes of the individual income. It was found that females and black color contribute to the reduction of this income, while education and age have a positive effect on this indicator.
