Abstract:
The existence of biases related to the so-called “irrational rationality†works against the good implementation of economic polices advised by experts. In this article, we test for the existence of those biases using a original sample collected online (n = 373). The empirical analysis found evidences of the influence of the ideology factor in almost all biases. In general, “conservative†and “libertarian†individuals are less biased. We couldn’t find evidences of the role of education on those biases, which could be a problem with our sample.
