Abstract: The objective of this study is to analyze the labor market of skilled women in Brazil from the perspective of occupational insertion and income inequalities. We used as a database to Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (Pnad) of 2015 and the salary decomposition technique of Oaxaca-Blinder with correction of the sample selection. Empirical evidences show that there is greater participation of women in science and arts occupations, but the highest pay is in the middle-level technical professions. They also prove that qualified women with higher education earn less than men, and that there is high gender pay discrimination; and, moreover, salary differences and discrimination are higher as the level of qualification of women increases in Brazil.
