Abstract: When it comes to storage, processing and usage of data, the recurring innovations have been revolutionizing the 21st century. The banking system has been through big change and has been implementing technology evermore. This merging of financial services with massive use of technology, known as fintech, became an important vector for ongoing innovation. Nevertheless, the majority of people will not enjoy the benefit, since a good amount of people don’t have access to digital devices (they’re digital outcasts) that would enable them to partake in those services. In that sense, this work’s standpoint seeks to analyze, by means of data panel regression, from 2014 to 2017, if the banking level is influenced by the growth of fintechs and other variables that involve digital inclusion (education, income and TIC). The results found that digitalization and internet access make banking easier, as opposed to fintechs that so far do not.
