Abstract:
This paper aimed to analyze the effects of the installation of the Ufersa campus in Angicos, Rio Grande do Norte, through a descriptive analysis of socioeconomic indicators. The results suggest that the municipality of Angicos had an increase in its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with a change in composition in favor of the service sector. Additionally, there were improvements in the Human Development Index (HDI) of the municipality, as well as an increase in the percentage of inhabitants with higher education and an improvement in the formation of high school teachers. Overall, the results indicate that the installation of the Ufersa campus promoted positive externalities on the economic and social dynamism of the municipality.
