Abstract:
This study evaluated the contribution of changes in the sectorial structure of the labor market based on the dynamics of the schooling of the employed and the respective degree of intrasectoral informality. As a case study, EspÃrito Santo was chosen from 2015 to 2019, based on PnadC/IBGE microdata. The results showed that, while in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória (RMGV) sectoral reallocation contributed negatively to the growth of informality (mainly among those with more schooling), in the Non-Metropolitan Region (RNM) the effect was the opposite (mainly among those with less schooling), emphasizing the importance of schooling as an instrument to combat informality.
