Abstract:
The article addresses the use of an assessment model for Barriers and Facilitatorsto innovation (BFI), which was applied to 48 managers at Nutrimental S/A, and theanalysis of its positive and negative implications that affected company com-petitiveness. The variables under study are: a) strategy definition; b) humanresources and behavior; and c) technological management. The exploratory-descriptive case was conducive for assessing innovation barriers and facilitatorsafter breakthrough organization ensuing from the “lunch box crisis†that occurredin the institutional market (in the 90s). Findings led to the company implementingthe organization restructuring, taking a new stand related to product innovation,creating added value to stakeholders involved and making best use of employees’creativity in terms of innovation.
