Abstract:
One of the main challenges which is addressed to the Romanian economy is that if the integration in the European Union represents a moment of discontinuity. It is to mention that the custom duties were abolition between Romania and the European Union (January 1st, 2004) made the Romanian companies to be in a direct competition, at least at the product markets level, with the companies in the European area. From this point of view, it can be appreciated that the Romanian integration effect will be quite low and the “danger” of integration is many times over dimensioned.
