Some aspects regarding the state aid in Romania - Member State of European Union

Abstract: State aid is an essential lever for governments. It is known that state aid policy is an integral part of competition policy, state aid being selective measures of public financial support granted to enterprises in certain geographical areas or sectors to achieve the objectives of general interest. Reasons for granting state aid may be different: concern to save in difficulty industries, preventing unemployment, promoting technological innovation. Support measures taken by the governments of the Member States, may fix market failures or given the current financial and economic crisis, can help some entrepreneurs in certain areas. Reliance on state aid in its various forms cause problems of coordination between governments. In this paper I present some aspects regarding the state aid in Romania during 2002-2011, its impact on economic activities. This paper is a part of a large research work and I will continue to analize in particularly many others aspects of the state aids applied in some domains of economy.
