Abstract:
A crime that is getting more and more diversified and complex, taking its increasing toll on economy through the costs it carries, seems to be out of focus at global levels. Although there are a lot of initiatives to counter it, it is a lack of evidence of a general accepted definition for financial crime, of a universal approach on what are the felonies to be included under this definition. Hence, the public awareness is limited and probably the efficiency of the authorities in charge of preventing and combating it is blunted.
