Abstract: The thematic of this paper examines health as a fundamental determinant of economic growth. Health is an important form of human capital. Nowadays, health affects growth both as a component of human capital and as an independent variable. Studying the relationship between health expenditure and economic growth leads to significant policy implications. Therefore, policymakers should look at health expenses as an investment rather than a cost, when planning macroeconomic policies in the health sector of a community. Governments must consider health a priority investment area in their national plans, not only because better health is a desirable objective in its own right, but also because it is an important determinant of economic growth and competitiveness.
