Romania’s fiscal conduct during the last 27 years was significantly influenced by external factors, both directly and indirectly. This paper focuses on the direct impact on fiscal conduct derived from its membership at the International Monetary Fund and European Union, also looking at the results, in comparison with four other member states (Poland, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Hungary).
