Abstract:
This paper aims to provide an analysis of Romania`s macroeconomic situation during the period 2012-2023. The shock caused by the economic and financial crisis followed later by the COVID-19 pandemic, led to the deterioration of key economic and social indicators, such as economic growth, GDP per capita, the unemployment rate, the NEETs rate, and other socioeconomic indicators. Romania has undergone that was relatively adequate in terms of economic development in the post-crisis period, but further efforts and progress are needed to ensure a proper balance between the social objectives and fiscal targets.
