Abstract:
This paper explores the economic value of data in the public sector and its role in optimizing decision-making. With the emergence of big data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning techniques that can leverage data to provide multiple benefits in forecasting certain phenomena, thus leading to better decision-making, data has become a national asset. Considering that a decision must, first and foremost, be informed—based on the analysis of all options, scenarios, and alternatives—data proves to be an essential resource in the process of optimizing decisions. Thus, data-driven public administration revolutionizes decision-making processes by integrating data analytics and evidence-based approaches to enhance governance and service delivery. By examining frameworks for data governance, open data initiatives, and the value of data as a strategic asset, the study highlights how data-driven decision-making improves transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency.
