Abstract: This article aims to study the main criteria underlying the transfers of football players. It has been observed that performance is strictly related to the salary a player gets, but its market value can also vary depending on other aspects such as age or people's prejudices. The case study is based on a linear regression performed on 50 La Liga players for the 2024-2025 season. As a result, it was observed that the market value of the players is related to the number of goals, assists and their age.
