Lamartine Hood and Wayne A. Schutjer

Choices: The Magazine of Food, Farm, and Resource Issues, 1990, vol. 05, issue 2, 4

Abstract: Public policy makers are rediscovering society's need for a higher education system that contributes solutions to social and economic problems, and landgrant universities are being challenged to respond. Within these universities, cooperative extension alone has the experience with various aUdiences, the credibility with local and state Officials, and the practical operating approach required to meet the challenge. Indeed, cooperative extension has a unique opportunity to shape the future of land-grant institutions.
