Rural economic development: The role of commercial banking in rural America

Abstract: The 2nd in a series of articles discusses the role commercial bankers play in rural economic development. The rural bank delivery system is discussed, and economic development programs available to community banks are identified. The experience of one community and its comprehensive approach to rural economic development are discussed. Successful rural economic development results from successful process and teamwork.
