Lender's choice--headed for the trash can?
Bert Ely
American Bankers Association, 1999, vol. 13, issue 01
Abstract:
There has been a tremendous negative reaction within the Farm Credit System to the lender's choice proposal the Farm Credit Administration put out for comment in 1998. The FCA cares little what bankers think about the FCS, but it cares mightily what Congress thinks. Bankers should write to their senators and representatives immediately to ask them to tell the FCA to drop the proposed lender's choice rule. Also, the ownership of Farm Credit Leasing has just been restructured to substantially reduce its corporate tax liability.
