Abstract:
The Other Financial Institution (OFI) was once an important component of the agricultural credit delivery system in America. However, the Farm Credit System (FCS) failed to capitalize on an opportunity presented by the banking industry, and the FCS' ability to catch up to other GSEs that are providing funding to banks is doubtful.
