Abstract:
Continuous improvement and continuous innovation are used in the service and manufacturing industries, but there is little evidence of their use in the beef production sector. This paper examines the evidence relating to Continuous Innovation and Continuous Improvement and describes a collaborative partnership approach to its implementation in the beef industry. The results indicate that using a facilitated network of businesses can increase the uptake of innovations and improvements in beef businesses. Results also indicate that there is a need to develop facilitators so that they are aware of the impact of innovations and improvements on business profitability and so they can assist managers and business owners to implement short term changes to the businesses.
