Abstract:
The wheat industry in South Africa is mainly concentrated on the utilisation of the internal market and in view of future internal market development and expansion the internal market potential for wheat and wheat products are discussed in this article. Considering wheat's role as a staple food for a large part of the population, the purpose is to form an idea of the factors which may influence the future market potential for wheat and wheat products in South Africa. Such a strategic perspective can serve as a starting point for the planning and formulation of marketing strategies in the wheat industry
