World agricultural production and consumption

Abstract: The article deals with an analysis of the world agricultural and foodstuff production and consumption. It analyses production and consumption development during the last 45 years (1961-2006). The aim of our paper is to analyse the current growth of population and foodstuff consumption and production and on the basis of these analyses, the paper tries to analyse the past and current food production development. In general, the paper analyses which factors influenced the foodstuff demand and which factors influenced the foodstuff supply.
