Pluriactivity of farming families - old phenomenon in new times

Abstract:
The article is devoted to the pluriactivity of farmers and farming families. It presents a historical outline of this phenomenon, and the conceptualisation of the term pluriactivity and the related term diversification. Then, the scale of pluriactivity in the EU is described on the basis of statistical data, with a special focus on Poland. At the end, the article presents the findings of the author’s own research on pluriactivity conducted in the Gródek district.
