Une enquête sur l'agriculture à temps partiel dans les zones industrielles de l'Italie
Corrado Barberis
Économie rurale, 1969, vol. 81-82
Abstract:
What are the various types of part time farmers ? Farmers-workers and worker farmers. How can they be statistically classified ? The author's report concern an original survey carried out for the most part in northen Italy, where a minority of farm units are exclusively agricultural. The alternation of activity concerns, according to the type of part time, either the farmer, his wife, or the other members of the family. What are the reasons which explain these differences in behaviour ? composition of the family, the type of farm, the amount of farm income compared with the income compared with the income from the outside occupation. Does civilized society, in the terms of A. Smith, tend towards a real division of labour ? It can be doubted.
