A UNIVERSIDADE COMO ESPAÇO TERRITORIAL DE INOVAÇÃO: O PAPEL DA EXTENSÃO UNIVERSITÁRIA NO INCENTIVO ÀS PRÁTICAS INOVADORAS DE GESTÃO

Abstract: A interação Universidade-Sociedade pode ser encarada, aliada à pesquisa e à docência, como uma das principais atividades das escolas de nível superior. O Prêmio Gestão Pública e Cidadania (GPC), concedido pela Fundação Getúlio Vargas, busca tal relacionamento com as comunidades envolvidas, ao julgar, avaliar e premiar iniciativas de desenvolvimento local. Objetivou-se, principalmente, neste artigo, realizar uma análise georreferenciada do Prêmio GPC, apresentando ao leitor as principais características dos projetos de desenvolvimento que foram avaliados como: área de atuação, abrangência, público alvo, etc. A análise diz respeito aos anos de 2005 e 2006. Ao contrário do esperado, nos resultados mostrou-se que as regiões mais carentes do país são, também, as que apresentam menor quantidade de projetos em distintas áreas de atuação. ----- The university-society interaction, allied to research and teaching, may be seen as one of the main activities of schools of higher education. The Public Management and Citizenship Award (GPC) granted by Fundação Getúlio Vargas seeks such a relationship with the communities involved, when judging, evaluating and awarding local development initiatives. The main objective of this paper is to performe a georeference analysis of the GPC Award, presenting the reader with the main features of the development projects which were assessed as: field of activity, scope, target audience, among others. The analysis concerns the years of 2005 and 2006. Contrary to expectations, the results showed that the poorest geographic regions of the country were also the ones presenting the lowest number of projects in many fields.
