Abstract:
The object of this study was to evaluate pig culture in Vale do Piranga (Zona da Mata) in Minas Gerais in 2001 technically and managementally. Specifically, it was intended to characterize the administrative and technological profile of pig culture in the area under study. For its characterization in Vale do Piranga, a survey was carried out with the producers, through objective questions and a posterior quantitative analysis. In this area pig culture presents high technical features and efficiency in a confined production system. However, part of the producers in this region have no business point of view and rational technical resources control, especially the financial ones.
