Abstract:
The aim of the study was to analyze changes in the domestic market of agricultural tractors in Poland in the years 2001-2012. The scope of the research included presentation of the volume of production, import and export of new and used agricultural tractors. To achieve the objective of the research national literature and mass statistics were used. Studies have shown that the domestic market for agricultural tractors reflected significant variations regarding the volume of production, imports and exports, and consequently, their supply that can be explained by unregulated demand. The demand for tractors was undoubtedly due to changes taking place in the Polish countryside during the period. Thanks to the EU demand for tractors was high. Demand for agricultural tractors of high power increased. Since 2006, the greatest demand was for tractors with an engine power of 59-75 kW. In the analyzed period, the production of tractors was 66 203 units and the largest share (57.9% – 38 299 units) was for tractors with the lowest power range of 18-37 kW. A total of 120 415 units of new tractors was imported, which is 181.9% of the national production of tractors. The supply of new agricultural tractors amounted to 149 562 units. In the years 2001-2012 the domestic market was supplied by a total of 49307 used tractors, which accounted for 33.0% of the supply of new agricultural tractors.
