Abstract:
The concentration of production in the swine sector results in an increase in demand for industrial feed mixes used for hog feeding. Concentration processes in Poland are not very well advanced and the average size of swine stock is several times lower the in other EU countries. Domestic use of industrial feed mixes per unit of livestock increases along rising scale of production but is still considerably below the level observed in the EU. Increasing use of industrial feed mixed results in a decline in their use per 1 kg of livestock produced, i.e. leads to an improvement in efficiency of production.
