Abstract:
The aim of the study was to compare the structure of direct payments in the CEE countries including the degree of beneficiaries and direct payments concentration in the individual intervals of obtained subsidies. We compared the level of direct payments concentration in these countries, by calculating the Lorenz concentration ratio. Analysis of the size of obtaining of this form of the EU support indicates that other role such measures can play in countries where much of it and in the lower limits of quota goes up to nearly 100% of the beneficiaries, and other in countries where a high proportion, but in higher quota ranges receives a small percentage of farmers. The most favorable structure of direct payments occurred in Slovakia and Bulgaria. The biggest fragmentation of direct payments absorption structure, which is the result of continued still a very large number of small farms, was recorded in Poland and Slovenia.
