Abstract:
The aim of this study was to present biomass production capabilities for energy purposes in Pomorskie province of Poland. Research was conducted in Pomorskie Province amongst 230 agricultural households in 2014. The method used in the research was a diagnostic survey and a questionnaire. The research tool was a survey questionnaire with closed questions. All the collected data were subject to a statistical analysis. Accessibility to energy services plays a key role in the functioning of rural communities. Energy supply is as important to the development of the country as its widely understood technological and social infrastructure. The use of biomass may play an important role in satisfying energy demand of the rural residents. Using biomass for their production and household needs would allow considerable minimization of harmful gas and dust emission into the atmosphere, which results from the traditional fossil fuel use.
