Roczniki (Annals), 2015, vol. 2015, issue 5

Abstract: The aim of the study is to characterize engagement in cooperation with the entities in the area within pro-environmental initiatives, as declared by entrepreneurs from valuable natural areas of the Lublin province, and to present assessments of the activity of local authorities in this regard, as formulated by the entrepreneurs. The results showed little activity of the entrepreneurs themselves and above-average activity assessments for local authorities in the study area. What is more, natural environment preciousness was not associated with increased activity of enterprises in the area of cooperation with entities of the area and the increased activity, as perceived by the entrepreneurs, of local authorities in taking up pro-environmental initiatives. The study was developed within the framework of the research project No. 2011/01/D/HS4/03927 entitled “Environmental Conditions and Factors of Economic Functions Development in Valuable Natural Areas of the Lublin Province” funded by the National Science Centre.
