Roczniki (Annals), 2015, vol. 2015, issue 6

Abstract: The barley is important link in production potential of polish agriculture. The aim of the study was comparision of barley production in different regions of Poland. The sources for regional diversification analysis of the barley production were statistical GUS data from 2012-2013, accessed according to the province. In a subjective way, 18 factors that were characteristic for barley production were chosen and were statistically analysed. Applying the multivariate analysis method allowed showing the regional diversification of barley production in Poland and determining the factors that influence it. The cluster analysis method was used to isolate five groups of provinces, which differed in barley production. In this paper it was found that regional diversity of barley production is mainly affected by organization and edaphic factors.
