Abstract:
The changes in the ground vegetables cultivation area and harvests in Poland and same EU countries have been studied. Research shows that Poland still take the 4th place in the EU, but today ex aequo with the Netherlands. Acreage and total harvest in Poland was for 14 years at a stable level with a decrease in the production of cabbage, carrots, beets and onions, and the yield and the average acreage is the lowest among the countries surveyed. The study shows that there is still a market for vegetables being the basis of Polish production, but it is necessary to faster the increase of productivity and average cultivation area.
