Abstract:
The aim of the study was to identify the scope of cooperation in pork supply chains in Poland on the background selected EU countries. The analysis has been based on the study of selected reference books, data storage statistics and information from 110 farms in the country specializing in the production of pork. Research showed that in countries with a high level of development of pig breeding there is a strong concentration of production and processing of pork and greater cooperation between the participants in the supply chain. In order to achieve a competitive advantage in the EU there is indicated the development of horizontal and vertical integration in the live pig market in Poland. Their development can be achieved through the creation of appropriate economic mechanisms.
