Abstract:
The idea of sustainable agriculture is to rationalize intensity of production, which will affect the quality of the environment. The principles of sustainable development arose from the need to take into account in the process of managing the interests of present and future generations, especially in terms of preserving values of the environment. The concept of sustainable development of agriculture is a multi-faceted and multidimensional. The origins of the perception of the development of agriculture through the prism of economic benefits and environmental consideration in production in the countries of the European Union dates back to the seventies of the last century. The aim of the study was to examine, on the basis of selected indicators, sustainability of agriculture in Poland. The results indicate large disparities within the framework of that balance.
