Major methodological challenges for the economic theory of the firm in the economies of Central and Eastern Europe

Abstract: This paper presents the major methodological challenges in microeconomic theory of the firm in the economies of Central and Eastern Europe. The methodological weaknesses of the theory are not only the cause of cognitive limitation but also an important condition for an effective economic policy during the transition period.
