Abstract:
The work is aimed at evaluation of the organization and functioning of information systems for tourism and its role in tourist movement and marketing activities of towns. Theoretical background of creation of the information system for tourists, organization of tourist information and its functioning in Polans, as well as results of empirical studies in three large towns of Poland, were presented in the paper. Ibnformation systems in Warsaw, Gdańsk and Kraków were presented together with an analysis of tourist movement in these towns. Opinions of tourist information consumers were studied and presented.
