Abstract: Analysis of changes in the geographical and commodity exchanges of Poland with non-EU countries points to the crucial importance of Polish accession to the European Union in 2004. Increased trade of agri-food products enabled generation of export surplus in trade with third countries. The accession also contributed to changes in the geographical structure, including increase concentration and changes of the main partners in imports. / Synopsis. Analiza zmian w strukturze geograficznej i towarowej wymiany Polski z krajami pozaunijnymi wskazuje na kluczowe znaczenie przystąpienia Polski do Unii Europejskiej w 2004 roku. Wzrost obrotów handlowych towarów rolno-spożywczych, w tym przede wszystkim eksportu, umożliwił uzyskanie wyraźniej nadwyżki w handlu z krajami trzecimi. Akcesja wpłynęła także na zmiany w strukturze geograficznej, w tym w szczególności zwiększenie koncentracji oraz na zmianę głównych partnerów w imporcie.
