Abstract: The primary objective of this paper is to present theoretical foundations, principles of operation and the benefits resulting from efficiently functioning, innovative integration relationships, which are cluster structures. This study attempts to indicate the socio-economic conditions for development of these relations. A proper functioning, including emerging integration systems in a given economy serve as one of the essential conditions for its dynamic expansion. /Synopsis. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano teoretyczne podstawy, zasady funkcjonowania oraz korzyści płynące z efektywnie funkcjonujących innowacyjnych powiązań integracyjnych, jakimi są struktury klastrowe. W opracowaniu podjęto próbę wskazania społeczno-ekonomicznych uwarunkowań rozwoju tych związków. Prawidłowo funkcjonujące, jak również tworzące się struktury integracyjne występujące w gospodarce są jednym z istotnych warunków jej dynamicznej ekspansji.
