Abstract: Many scientists tried to explain ‘innovation’ but this term has a lot of explanations. Producers implementing innovation processes are having chance to survive in demanding markets. New ideas are deciding on the policies and the rate of development. According to this we can say that being innovative is a solid base for building competition advantages and it should be built into each company’s management system in order to become it’s main force. In this study, the author was trying to describe the influences of introducing innovations on companies’ competitiveness. / Synopsis. Innowacja jest pojęciem definiowanym przez wielu naukowców na różne sposoby w zależności od przyjętych kryteriów. Przedsiębiorstwo wdrażając procesy innowacyjne ma szanse na przetrwanie na rynku o wysokim stopniu konkurencji. Innowacje decydują o kierunku i tempie rozwoju firmy, w związku z tym wprowadzenie innowacji można uznać za podstawę budowanie przewagi konkurencyjnej. Powinny one na stałe wpisać się w system zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem i stać się główną siłą napędową organizacji. W pracy podjęto próbę określenia wpływu wdrażania innowacji na konkurencyjność przedsiębiorstw w branży owocowo-warzywnej.
